I have to say, I tend to agree with you both. I used to work as a TV reporter and presenter (for a small company) and vox pops usually meant a rather boring and frustrating few hours 'wasted' for little or no insight and value. Furthermore, due to the requirements about balancing opposite arguments, one should included both, even if you're in an area where you are aware there's a bias, which can be difficult to obtain.<br /><br />As for your example, Drew, that clip did, I feel, minimise a very serious criminal case of a search for a gunman. Surely running a 'real' story about the incident and the appeal would have been far more of worth, even if a comment had been made within the report of the description of the peretrator's accent.<br /><br />Thank you both, therefore, for your insightful, analytical, statements.
