I was rather more 'fired up' when I blogged on this yesterday ~ I do not like pressure groups.<br /><br />I think even hardened radio folk (like John Myers) were sUrPrIsEd by Tony Hall's rather naive comments?<br /><br />You've covered much of the ground (and yes it's good to hear women on the radio) BUT can I add ONLY ones with good RADIO VOICES.<br /><br />The BBC in general needs to lose this cult of employing (male or female) tv personalities or Media Studies students on radio, UNLESS they have great voices AND are knowledgeable about the music they are given to play.<br /><br />Ironically, I now realise the FIRST dj I recall was Jean Metcalfe, a GREAT voice, when she played Carole King's 'It Might As Well Rain Until September' in '62 on 'Two Way Family Favourites'....<br /><br />Thanks for your Calm blog.Len Groathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08823414281269367598noreply@blogger.com
